Purchasing Officer

About the role

Goddard Enterprises Ltd is looking for an experienced, dependable Purchasing Officer to ensure that all of the company's orders are accurately processed in its operating system and on time. The role covers order processing, supplier negotiation, tracking and stock monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Generate purchase orders for product replenishment based on established procedures.
• Negotiate with suppliers on pricing and terms, and follow up on shipment discrepancies.
• Track orders and organize logistics for delivery, including processing shipment documentation.
• Monitor stock levels.
• Source new items and suppliers, facilitate ordering of special-order items and prepare for trade shows.

Required profile

• An associate degree in a business discipline, or a qualification in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management.
• Either at least 3 years of experience in purchasing, export and shipping, or a minimum of 5 CXC credits including English and a numeric subject plus 5 years of experience in purchasing, export and shipping.
• Ability to travel overseas.

• Cost price analysis and other data analysis skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Conversant with procedures of government and shipping authorities.
• Ability to coordinate activities between locations and work under pressure.
