Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)

About the role

The Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) will lead the company’s anti‑money laundering, counter‑terrorism financing, counter‑proliferation financing and data‑protection programmes. The role ensures adherence to local laws, regulatory requirements and group standards through monitoring, reporting and employee awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor customer transactions using AML monitoring systems and investigate suspicious activity.
• Conduct customer, sanctions and due‑diligence screening; file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with the FIU.
• Review source‑of‑funds declarations and oversee AML controls in underwriting and claims.
• Prepare monthly AML reports and submit compliance updates to Group Compliance.
• Maintain compliance records and regulatory reporting via the Global Entity Management System (GEMS).
• Assist in quarterly Board reporting on AML/CFT compliance, risks and recommendations.
• Coordinate audits, track corrective actions and deliver AML awareness training.
• Monitor data‑protection legislation compliance and support privacy reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with high ethical standards.
• Experience in AML, CFT, CPF or related financial‑crime compliance functions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AML monitoring systems.
• Familiarity with sanctions screening tools and GEMS.
• Knowledge of data‑protection and privacy regulations.
