Shipping Clerk

We’re excited about the future and want you to be part of it. As a Shipping Clerk you will help ensure smooth operations in the Shipping Department while delivering quality service to customers and shipping lines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in cargo clearance by notifying consignees, registering manifests and preparing cargo releases.
• Respond to customer queries and provide freight rates.
• Review and authorize vessel accounts and disbursements.
• Receive payments, document receipt of funds for freight and other charges.
• Prepare insurance claims and related documents.
• Handle outgoing and incoming correspondence and maintain department records and inventory.

Required profile

• Four CXC subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
• Minimum of one year experience in a computerized customer‑facing role.
• Shipping experience in a similar position is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in orders, shipments, or documentation.
